Evening all, did anyone read an article in tuesdays herald-sun about the new lemon laws?
"Manufacturers of expensive items such as cars, motorbikes, tv's or home theatre equipment would have to replace the items free of charge if they were to have a fault that couldnt be fixed" It states the government wants an automatic trigger system built into the system, so that items can automatically be deemed a lemon once they reach a certain number of repairs within a certain time frame. The law would only apply to new items. Good news for the countless hardluck stories being posted almost daily, shame for all its too late, it may be the incentive manufacturers need to make that extra effort quality wise. Apologies if this is a repost. |
