Casper's recent poll prompted me to follow up on a thought that's been nagging me.
My ghia is the first Ford I've owned in 20 years and my level of interest in cars during that time was minimal so I'm not really up to speed on what's what. It strikes me that AU XR's are a unique looking vehicle (yes, yes I know - I always was quick off the mark, lol) so I'm thinking of buying a good low kms, original XR and hanging on to it. Won't use it as daily driver, maybe use it for weekend cruises but mainly just have it as a nice example of the model. I'd keep it in strictly original condition (not looking to alter it in anyway). The big question is which AU XR? Is there one which stands out (which would probably mean that it will be worth more than a lesser example in 20 or 30 years)? If you have an opinion please comment with your reasons but let's not turn it into a brawl. I'm only interested in XR's and would appreciate your feedback. |
