Default Re-Learning AU3 KEY

I'm after a bit of help.

I recently-ish bought an AU3 sedan, that I have been slowly pulling apart. But before I pull the engine / trans out I want to make sure it runs. I have been careful to not take anything off the car that will effect anything regarding the engine. So all the sensors and wiring remains in tact.

My problem is that before I bought the car it had no battery in it for quite some time (~12 months), and now when I put the key in, although it is the right key for it, the cars security doesn't recognize it. To compound the problem, I only have 1 key.

So my question is, how do I get the computer to recognize THIS key in order to get it started and running?

Any help would be appreciated.
