VICTORIA - Winter Cruise - Mt Macedon - Hanging Rock

Hey everyone!

Looks like I'm organising yet another cruise for us Mexicans!! it: Where are you all hiding?!?!?!!!!! :

I think a combination of gorgeous fresh cool mountain air and a nice hot lunch is in order, perhaps for a relaxed cruise into the Macedon Ranges, only an hour North of Melbourne and well worth the drive up the Calder. It's about 60km or so, maybe a little more, we could climb Mt MAcedon (1001m) to the lookout for pics, then cruise into the township for lunch, maybe then onto Hanging Rock only 5km North of Mt Macedon and then have a little backroad cruise perhaps, does anyone know some good spots to visit?

I'd be happy taking a thermos of soup, buying a meat pie (and buying Resty the lunch I owe him!!) and just cruising up through the cool air to Hanging Rock via Mt Macedon.

I would also LOVE to see some Focus MkII owners along if they are interested, would be a great, relaxed introduxtory cruise for anyone to bring along their new car, new friends or even their family!!

Let's get the ball rolling and pick some dates, see when people can attend!!

Macedon and Mount Macedon boasts an array of grand gardens, many of which are open to the public in spring through to autumn. Wander through these mature but ever changing gardens, a mixture of rare and exotic trees and plants set against a backdrop of the rich Australian bushland.

There is always plenty to see and do in the beautiful Mount Macedon district – galleries, tea rooms, golf course right through to , wineries just to name a few. You can stop along the way and enjoy the beautiful gardens of Mount Macedon and explore the specialised nurseries in the area. The stunning settings of these famous gardens reflect Macedon Ranges’ statusas as a favourite country retreat.
