Default AU2 auto g'box yoke remove

Is there a trick to removing the yoke from an AU2 XR6 4-speed auto box?

I was expecting it to just slide straight off as in the many times I've slid a tailshaft out, sometimes even when I didn't want to. But this one has a bare yoke, no tailshaft, so I don't have the weight advantage

But it feels like theres something "solid" holding it in......don't wanna force it and break anything

Advice please anyone???????
