Default Mobile auto electrician in Melbourne?

Hey guys,

The AU's BEM is wreaking havoc. A while ago it stalled and died in chaddy and wouldn't crank over when you turn the key. The RACV guy came and tried to bypass the key and crank it by doing something in the fuse box, and it cranked but never wanted to fire.

Oddly enough, a few days later when we got it towed home, I was reading the Max Ellery manual and decide to try a different key after pulling the battery out for a while. Amazingly, it worked! It ran perfectly for a few seconds, and then I heard an unusual noise coming from the exhaust, almost a whine but not really. This was also noticeable in the engine bay. This started off loud and eventually went down. When this odd noise stopped, the car decided to turn off by itself.

Now when you try to start the car, the Smartshield indicator flashes repeatedly, indicating that the BEM doesn't like the key.

A quick search indicates that replacing the BEM and getting it programmed to the ECU should get rid of the Smartshield problem. Would a replacement BEM solve the other problem as well? Or is it pure coincidence?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a good mobile sparky who has those weird and wonderful Ford tools?

Thanks in advance
