Insurance! Help Desperately Needed!

Hey all,

You may know me, you may not.
But i'm a big ford fan, being the proud owner of a BA XR6 myself.

I'm on my L's and have 2 months until i'm able to go for my P's.
So in the time i've been gathering hours blah blah, and i've been working on my car, so it'll be the way I want it when I'm licenced.

Right now, through my parents, my insurance is Just under 700$
Yesterday I was kindly informed that when i'm on my P's, it'll cost me $2,778 a year to insure, full comp.
The car itself is worth just under 20k so Third Party Fire and Theft isn't really an option.
To be honest, I can't afford 2.7k to insure her.
Keep in mind that the 2.7k is still through my parents, with their names still on the vehicle, but with me as another driver.
Apparantly the stupid insurance companies go by the youngest driver. Which..is.. Me?

Im in a bit of a dilemna here, as I can't afford to pay that much, but I desperately want to keep my car.

It mainly annoys me, as it's almost like a death sentence the insurance people have handed me. I can't pay that much. So its either, I sit it on the driveway and look at all i've done to it. Or Sell it.
Either way, I don't get to drive her.

Any ideas guys?
