Thank you for your message submitted to Ted Baillieu 29 May 2010 via his website. Ted has seen the YouTube video from Topher (Unpopular View) and appreciates your interest in the “magic solution”. The idea of bringing water from Tasmania to Victoria is not a new one. It is a proposal that would require vast sums of money from Victoria, estimated to exceed any benefit. It is therefore difficult to envisage budget capacity for investment in such a project. Furthermore it would be contingent on full support from the Tasmanian State Government and Hydro Tasmania, both of whom have clearly stated they will not consider the sale of Tasmanian water to other states. Nevertheless we have passed a copy of your message on to Louise Asher, Shadow Minister for Urban Water, for her information. Thank you for taking the time to let Ted know your thoughts on this important matter. |
