This is a great way to put to rest anyone's concern about whether or not the new EcoBoost 3.5L engine will hold up, and work hard enough, in an F150.
Ford pulled an engine off the end of the assembly line (my wife witnessed this), took it to Michigan and put it on a dyno for 150,000 miles worth of worst case scenario working. Then they put it in a truck and took it to a logging outfit in Oregon. Logs that were cut down and normally pulled by heavy equipment to where they get loaded on a truck were now going to be pulled (dragged) by the F150 with EcoBoost. There's a reason they don't use pick-up trucks for this. This truck is also going to go to a race track, a trailer with 2 Ford Fusion race cars on it will be attached, and then they are going to run the truck around the track......for 24 hours.....at wide open throttle. Somewhere along the line the engine will also compete in the Baja 1000 off road race as well. Ford just started posting the videos of these events. They look great!!
