Default experts help please

Hi we have debate raging on the Terri site about fitting front pads some guys are advocating clamping brake hoses and even DBA has a tech quide on you tube showing clamping a hose.

I was always under the impression as a trained mechanic clamping hoses was a big no no as it can damage the reinforcing

I have always cracked the bleeder to push back the pistons. do you have any thoughts .
