both manuals and autos are great in their own ways. however we have 3 manuals - one i changed from auto and the other 2 my wife wanted a manual. i am more than happy with that because a 121 jellybean or a 4 cyl rav 4 in auto would not be a pleasant driving experience
i did enjoy the na fairlaine's auto, but the ar telstar with auto wasn't as nice
i guess 6 or 8 cyl - autos can be good - 4 cyl . . . . less so

overall though, i think i would choose manual . . . sometimes i am not sure why, but i still would. maybe i am just a boy racer at heart . . . and proud to be so
