too many factors, you have to consider driver plays a part also.
here's one from a few years back, 302W Capri vs 302W Cortina, Cortina was about 100lbs lighter (3100lbs vs 3000lbs). Cortina made 520hp Baker's engine dyno and 380rwhp on Gerry's Automotive chassis dyno. Capri made 460hp Dave Handley's engine dyno and 370rwhp on Gerry's. the chassis dyno runs were on the same day. same spec C4 gearbox, fuel and TCE Converter both car's go out on the same night. Capri consistent every pass 10.6@127, Cortina runs 1 10.8@123mph, everything else 10.9-11.1@123 Cortina driver is 70lbs lighter, jumps into Capri runs 10.8-10.9@126 (he had numerous passes that night), you'd think being lighter he would have run a little quicker. |
