Default Ford and Privacy

Hello

Just a question for all of you people. I was recently selling my 2010 XR6 turbo and a bloke from a ford dealership service department called me because he wanted to look at my car.

Anyway I had never taken my car there for a service nor had the car been purchased there yet some how this bloke knew all my details and all the details about my car.

How can this be and isn't this a breach of privacy?
