Default Noisy disc rotors

Hi,
Hopefully you can answer this...
I have recently had a set of Brembo 6 pots installed on the front of my 2011 FG XR6T, they look awesome, work as expected but I have a constant noise which best I can describe sounds like a child's bike which has a playing card rapping through the spokes which gets louder when I brake.
The mechanic that did the install said its due to the slots and dimples on the rotors!
Does this sound right? Will a disc change get rid of the noise or am I stuck with it?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
