Ford sales strategy was the same up until 18-24 months ago. Thing is, they no-longer have to keep a factory above water anymore and the "volume at all costs" (ie massive advertising dollars/low profit margin ect) is not something they want to a part of anymore....too much hassle. Granted, they do have image and quality control problem that have got to have affected sales as well as the change in sales tact.
