Default Help with BA tailshaft.

I'm currently helping out a friend who has a ba xr6 turbo sedan
Started out his diff was gone so being himself he went 3 hours away for a $500 ba diff center not sure what's in it but its good! Problem is its a m78 out of a standard ba its all fitted in the cradle and back in the car
MAIN question would be is there a way to get the m78 diff to connect to the m86 tailshaft or if I swap to a standard m78 tailshaft will that connect straight up to the auto?
I've heard standard tailshafts won't fit the xr6t auto.
Need the car back on the road and starting to run low on funds for it so can't just get a new m86 diff center that's got as much work done as this one

Any help would be great thanks
