The above ad has it advertised at 157hp. I’d have thought that pathetic figure would be omitted, especially when you could buy an entry level BMW 325i with 170hp.
I didn't find a 1982 325i, but found a 320i which had a suggested manufacture retail price of 13.5K in 1982usd. No idea of the hp.

The Mustang 5.0 GT of 1982 was listed in the 3.5K range.

American cars in general had terrible hp ratings in the early 80's and gradually improved.

They were all terrible off the showroom floor.
