I thought this was interesting - Government blocked Milo Yiannopoulos from entering the country by denying his visa on character grounds due to the protests that occured in 2017, then Victoria Police tries to pin a $50K bill on him because of the cost of Victoria Police at the protests.

https://www.theguardian.com/australi...id-police-bill Then the Government has back flipped and appears to have granted his visa over some public outrage? https://www.smh.com.au/politics/fede...09-p512xc.html While I don't agree with everything Milo Yiannopoulos says, I don't appreciate the Government telling me who I can or can't listen to by trying to reject people under crappy reasons like 'the character test' then using the protests as an excuse, the issue isn't Milo, the issue is the protesters themselves. An interesting side note about that venue, it hosted Milo Yiannopoulos for his Melbourne tour, the protesters caused issues outside of it, then last Friday night three people were shot and one murdered there, seems to be having a rough run lol. This comedian covers it fairly decently: What are your thoughts? |
