Default Re: Depression, Anxiety

A timely reminder for everyone to please reach out if you feel like you are struggling. Call or talk to a friend, colleague, family member, person from a car forum, specialist service, life line, counsellor, etc. At my lowest I felt like a burden on everyone around me, this is not the case. A late night phone call is much much preferable to being notified of something tragic.

I was trying to dodge a call from my manager on Friday morning expecting the call to be asking me to work my day off due to storm activity. There were a few missed calls back and forth until we spoke. He was calling to inform me of the passing of one of the guys from work. I had worked with this guy off and on in different capacities for almost 15 yrs - me as apprentice under his instruction, me as worker alongside him and finally me as a work planner with him as a supervisor.

His passing has completely blindsided everyone at work and left many questioning if they should have noticed something in the weeks leading up to his passing. We are about to enter a tough time at work, but nothing compared to what his wife and kids would be feeling.

And to top it off I found out about the passing of another former work mate, a real character of the workplace. He was quick to put **** on people, but even quicker to help when needed.

This has been a pretty **** few days.
