Default Your most frustrating mechanical experience

So at Christmas my VW died suddenly.

Was confident just the battery.

Right.

So........where is the bloody thing?!?!?!

Original handbook says in engine bay. Nup. Of course it's not - that makes too much sense.

Sure enough, it's actually hidden in the boot........brilliant. Not.
