Due to the 'simplification' of NT Border Entry rules that come into effect on the 20th December, my employer (an others) will now have to fly me and the rest of the crew into Darwin two weeks prior to our joining ship, they will then have to fork out for CBD Hotel accommodation and expenses for the 14 days + 14 extra days wages...this now makes our swing away 7 weeks long instead of 5 with only 3 weeks at home before heading back to work lol.

It was way simpler and cheaper for my employer BEFORE 'simplification'

On the plus side we will have freedom of movement for the the 14 days as long as we stay in the Greater Darwin area, no Howard Springs.

I caught a part of the presser today with Nicole Manison.
There may be work going on to change that for 'essential' workers.
