Engine malfuction light came on. Had scan and DPF was the issue. Had a forced regen, which temporarily fixed. Only lasted a day. Removed Fuel vapouriser, partially blocked, got it cleaned ,poked soot out of hole, then with solvent and blown out with air. Electrics checked out OK. All seems to be OK now . Fuel economy seems have improved,7.1 l/100 km mixed driving, used to be around 7.4. Car has done 175,000km.
Do you think it would be a good idea to get the vapouriser valve inspected & cleaned as a regular maintenance service?. Easy to remove, with a hoist, say every 75,000km or something. What do you think?. |
