What I mean by that is, do you want something to remove scratches and hazing (a polish or cutting compound), or do want something to add some gloss and protection (wax, sealant or coating).

If you want to actually "polish" every 6 months but not necessarily a "cut and polish", I would look into a cleaner wax from Meguiars -

Thanks for that- I think more along the lines of the cleaner wax. I will look into that one
