Councils can't repair potholes properly without State and Federal funding.
There is so much red tape it's crazy. If a council was to do a repair properly then they would be refused compensation by whichever government the road comes under. They have to temporarily repair a pothole, then submit paperwork to State or Feds and wait for approval and finance from them to repair the road properly. It really is an antiquated system they have to work under. I'm not defending councils here but just stating how it has to be done. |
