When Hawke & Keating opened up Australia's economy to the world followed by John Howard the big companies dictate where they want to set up business, cheaper for them to import rather than refine oil here, same reason why our car manufacturing industry collapsed here, same reason why our energy prices have skyrocketed.

Yeah 20 odd years ago Australia was set up well enough to be able to be totally self sufficent,but now all the manufacturing and technology has all been scrapped or sold off to overseas interests,now we are almost totally dependent on others(Asia)for everything we need.We are now even importing all sorts of foodstuffs,something we should NOT be doing because we can produce any food we need plus some
