The service advisor ran me through the invoice and proudly pointed out that my Sat-Nav had been updated for no extra cost. Apparently, I now have Sat-Nav on my povo-spec Ranger XL. I said nothing, I didn't want to upset the apple cart. In this case, my Ranger was in for the 105,000 km service.................with 37,770 km on the clock. 105,000 km / 84 month Capped Price Service - $163.01 Gasket Drain - $12.98 Oil Filter - $16.60 Washer Solution (which I now have to remove) - $4.05 8.6 Lt of Castrol Magnatec Professional A5 5W-30 - $128.57 Enviromental Levy - $25.00 Shop Supplies (that must be an expensive paper towel) - $22.50 Total - $372.71 Sat Nav Update - No Charge Customer Survey - No Charge (sure as hell not paying Ford for my opinion) Service Activated Roadside Assistance - 0.02c (lol) Labour - $163.01 Total Parts - $33.63 Total POL - $153.57 Total Sublet $0.00 Total Misc - $22.52 Total Tax $37.27 Total Invoice - $410.00 I will say, there is some value in the Ford system as they provide 12 months of roadside assistance, and Sat-Nav updates (if fitted ). You also get PCM and other electronic updates if applicable that are not privy to independent mechanics. On my father's Wildtrak, if the car was serviced outside of the dealer network, the failing oil pump situation wouldn't have been picked up or rectified (this is a dealer bulletin for a certain batch of Bi-Turbo engines that requires total engine replacement). If I had the time and skill, I would do the job myself, as it is I won't be doing this sort of thing without a lift.
