Thumbs up Advice Required For LR Zetec

Hello to all !!

This is my first post in this section so please be gentle !!
I am looking at buying a 2004 LR Zetec and naturally it will be having mods done ASAP.
What I wanted to know was the types of mods that people have done to achieve good increases in power. (Looking at purely "Bolt-On" at this stage)
I was also interested to see where people are buying their products from. I have looked at a lot of sites from the U.K, but don't seem to be able to find too much here in Australia.
Any advice that people can supply would be fantastic !!
Thanks in advance.

some people have done the whole Turbo thingy but $$$$.

there isnt much in australia. there is a site the has AUS pricing, but not too sure if it would help you out.

Basic mods for the LR focus are

S170 Snorkel and Auto Air Deflector
ST Airbox / CAI

Exhaust Mods of course..

Then you can go down the route of Underdrive pulleys

These will definately give you slight increases in power and response...

have a look at

www.mcnewsautomotive.com
www.c-f-m.com

and also
www.focushacks.com
www.myzx3.com
www.focusfanatics.com
www.ffoc.co.uk

for more info on mods

Parkers is the best source for model info and reviews for UK cars.

See here: http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/review...del=269&page=5

They also got a 2.0 Zetec which was identical in EVERY way to ours, apart from minor trim options that were/weren't standard (like MP3 CD players) but everything is mechanically identical.

Start with a K&N Panel filter or that Typhoon up above (nice)

Next step would be sticky tyres when the original ones wear out, try Goodyear Eagle F1 GD-D3, Michelin Piolt Preceda 2 or something simlar. Goodyear probably best bang for the buck and look awesome.

Bolt on a 2 1/4 inch exhaust from the cat back, with one central good flow muffler (no need for high-flow) and it'll purr like a kitten on viagra

Finish it off with the 2.0 auto air intake, an ST170 snorkel and maybe even a set of underdrive pulleys and it'll be spot on.

Question

Hey zetec,

Thanks for the feedback.
What is the benefit of the 2.0 litre auto air intake ?

It covers the open mouthed intake with one that directs air from inside the grille instead of gathering it through the gap under the bonnet.
