Does anybody know of any good places to dyno a NA XR6 in Brissy? And what is the cost?

As flappist has said RDP in Redcliffe and here is their sponsor section http://www.fordforums.com.au/forumdisplay.php?f=112

They have a dyno day and car show coming up (advertised within their section) if that would interest you.

It would be cheaper to do it as part of the dyno day, as they go cheaper for so many runs in a group. Its also fun, as a social gathering as well, to catch up with people.

Most dyno days charge around the $30 mark for a run or two (that is up to them and can vary). For a dyno run by itself, I dont really know as dynos are usually part of the tuning process - so they are done as part of the process of having something else done, such as an edit, or an exhaust added or something... However, I would expect that a single run on the dyno on its own to test for power and Nm/AFR would be around the $50-$60 mark but again, that is just a guess... Might be an idea to give them a ring and see what they can do for you.

I do recommend going to the dyno day though, they are fun!!!

Jac

Thank Jac. To be honest, I have sen the list of people going to the dyno day and what cars they have.... and am a little embarrased to rock up in my pride and joy compared to the others, if you know what I mean.

But I do see your point as to it being cheaper. I might look into it.

don't ever be embrassed to bring your car along, it's a fun day for all not a full on competition. However we can do a run for you on a different day for the dyno day price

Thanks Steve

Hehe I know what you mean Sam, but seriously, at one of our dyno days here, Ehab (forum bloke) turned up with his 1980 or something Corolla and it got 18rwkw or something! It was hysterical! And he got the trophy for the 4 cyl class!!!

Its all in good fun, and it is not supposed to be serious.

Have fun!!!

Ill be going in my N/A AU fairmont. I just want to give it a run, and see if I can beat my old best. Plus if they are runniong it as a DYO, everyone has a chance anyway, it will be fun.

Good to see you are coming along Sam. Dont worry about the comp mate, you could even win it, as it's not about who has the most power, the prize is going to the person who can guess the closest to there actual power. It's a fun day mate and nobody bags each other out about there rides. A chance to meet some good and very knowledgable guys in the RDP crew.

Completely agree, I'm taking my N/A ED XR6, and although i know about how much power its producing, 140rwkw out of an N/A BA isnt too hard for a stocko, yet thats about what my modded ED has
