Default manual conversion = no go

hey guys,

my brother has a x cop AU1 XR8 , he converted it to manual, and now when we crank it over, it cranks over the engine but doesnt start, the fuel pump doesnt come on when the ignition is turned on, we have power at coil, injectors n the fuel pump relay, but no go with the fuel pump...what could of happened ? is it the in loom that goes to the box... he has tried a auto and manual XR computer, no go still...

would anyone have any info or previous experiences with this before ?

any comments would be appriciated..

would sound like the gearbox thinks it is still in gear, i.e. neutral safety switch check the wires related to that.

Check the fuel pump it self. Check the fuse for the pump, the wiring to the pump, make sure every thing connet up. You might of damage some of the wiring. Keeping the wiring starting from the front through the back until you can't find any power. A quick check to see the pump is still working, is get a long enough pice of wire from the battery up to the pump & hook it up to the pump. If the pump starts working you'll know you got a break in the line some where.

That happen to a mate of mine years ago. It took hours to remember that the gear select was still in gear. Made for a good kill switch, as it was on the column.

I'll check this one frist.

Manual XR computer needs to be coded to the car. Take it to ford.

Its not that, cause he said it Cranks but wont start. Neutral safety switch stops the car from even cranking...

hey sorry guys for the lack of update, we got the auto elec round, and replaced all the fuses in the fuse box then it started, seems kind of embarrasing coz we usually wouldnt let that be the problem but i spose we were so fed up and stuffed that we must of miss checked a few in there, anyway it starts and all is well, thankx for the comments guys!
