Hey all,
Myself and a few friends are holding a Cruise for a Cure Charity Cruise on Sunday, 18th of March for the Leukemia Foundation. Various other car clubs are involved, and I would love to see a few fords mixed in this time. Last year there was over 400 cars, we hope to top that this year. Although this year, Coca Cola and Sunkist are involved, still waiting on calls back from Pizzahut and Subway (drinks and food). 7 and 10 news will be there. Police escort to get us all out of sydney without getting broken up at traffic lights. The Leukemia Foundation are well aware of what is happening, and have already sent information packs under the title of Monster Cruise. There will be reps from the Foundation also traveling with us with Donation bins for the ones that are more generous, sheerers for those that are willing to shave their heads, and little pink ribbons/pins and things for all those who attend. The cruise will be leaving from Homebush Bay P6 car park and will finish up in Gosford. The reason for Gosford is that every year this cruise has gone to the gong we wanted something a little different. $20 per vehical will be paid on entry to the Homebush car park, we hope to raise $10,000. Which means 500 vehicals. Come on guys, lets have some fun and raise some money. :Reverend: P.S Accomodation can be arranage for the ones travelling up from ACT. |

Last time I went on one of these ... which ended in Terrigal ... there were a lot of ricer idiots on the road ... 2 accidents .... and more Police waiting at the other end with defect books in hand (even though it was already organised with the Police) ... they thought it was a great way of revenue raising to defect everyone on the day.
When it comes to mega huge cruises like this .... I steer clear ... as the majority of cruisers on the day do drive like idiots. I guess I am getting old ... but I can say "Been there, done that" ... I know what they are like ... not fun to attend as a drive day. And not fun getting a defect (or several) either.

Registration is 9.30, cruise will commence at 10.30am, your car will be numbered.
We now have McDonalds on board that are giving free vouchers for free meals, we have a DJ in gosford at the showground, and a BBQ being held for those that want to come along. Police will be there, and will be turning a blind eye to alot of cars, but if they start being stupid on the roads they will get booked and so they should! |
