Default GT V6 Capri wanted

Hello everyone.

I'm just wanting to restate my search for a GT V6 Capri (manual g/box). I'm open to any of the three years (70, 71, 72) but must admit to having a slight preference for a 1970, as this is my vintage also. I'm looking for a car that is as close to unmodified (factory release spec) as possible. It doesn't have to be concourse, it just has to be all there (or at least not needing any major parts hunts to complete). Heavy rust in structural areas will be a problem.

I'm not interested in paying crazy prices. Cars that need full restoration will vary from $2-4k, clean roadworthy examples will be about $5-8k and very good examples from $10-12k. I am willing to pay above these prices for the right car, but lets try and stay realistic. You're going to have to have a pretty good car to be worth over, say $15-17k.

I am not going to modify a car, I'm not going to race it, and I'm definately not going to convert it to a V8. If you have an original, well cared for car (and you'd like to see it stay that way!) and you would like to sell then please don't hesitate to contact me. My e-mail is radioactiveman1@optusnet.com.au

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

Jamie

Thanks Kermit but this car is a 1600 deluxe converted to a V6 (one which is too overbored I think). I thought about it for a second though when I first enquired with the owner, but soon found my resolve to wait for the right car.

It's funny how the market has been flooded with rusty autos too. There were 5-6 manuals made for every auto in this country, you'd think that you'd see a few more manuals around.

Cheers

As is the dodgy candy apple red one on ebay at the moment I suspect. This car is up to it's fourth appearance on ebay at the moment and the second person (that I know of) who is trying to sell it. Despite the claims, I'm fairly sure this is NOT a V6 GT, but a 1600XL (model number 13016) with a V6 "conversion".

Cheers

Hey there, My old man has two of these, currently he is restoring a Capri GT V6 Manual, not too sure of the year in Wild Plumb (it is nearly finished), he also has a Auto one that he picked up a while ago that he restored, I think the colour is Aquarius Blue, not sure on that one though. These both are original GT Capri's, He will sell one of them when he is finished I would say, maybe even both of them at the same time. I can ask him if you are interested.

I would definately appreciate being contacted if they are/will be for sale. You can e-mail me directly on

radioactiveman1@optusnet.com.au

I'm after an original manual with it's original engine if possible. Idealy I'd like a car that needs restoration rather than one that has been restored, but let me know if they become available and we'll go from there.

Cheers

Still looking for a good V6GT to restore. For anyone interested there is one on ebay from northern NSW but it looks a bit rough and incomplete. Might be good if you had some spares to make up the difference and/or a donor car.

Cheers
