Thus if i tell them i've hit a traffic pole i need to be covered for that, yet in the next breath i say, oh and i want to insure my new car i just got, they might not insure me anymore, thats my main problem:S....any ideas?

.... and what are you going to tell another insurance company if you don't use RACV, that you have had no accidents in the last 5 years?

I would like to read your question in such a way that your not trying to scam the system, but alas...

Rest assured though, like all forums, your posts would have been already noticed by insurance companies trolling the forums.

just play it straight down the lines. insurance companies WILL come down on you hard if they find out you have held information back.

FFS! Ring up whoever the crashed car is insured with.... Tell them the truth and what happened. They are going to find out sooner or later. If they choose not to cover you now, they will choose not to cover you later when they do find out.

If anything, they will just make your excess higher for the next car to be insured under your name.

I think they would expect you to have a new car after you crash your old one... Its not going to seem suss that you would like to continue having insurance after having a stack.

Just tell them what has happened.

What's the point of having insurance if you're not going to use it?

When insuring the new vehicle advise you insurer of the previous accident.
You have a duty of disclosure.

have you lodged a claim at all,if not do it,then tell them you another car and will they insure it,they can only give one of two answeres.

or,insure the second vehicle and let then know at the same time you need to claim on the first one.

one at fault accident will not make you uninsurable, you might have a higher premium but you will still get covered.. Don't stress, just tell the truth and everything will be apples..

Was the car you had the accident with insured?

If it was all you have to do is a change of vehicle with your current insurer as the policy will still be current if you were only insured for Third Party Only or Third Party Fire and Theft..............

So remove the car you had the accident with off the policy and replace it with the new car, the policy will still cover you for all third party costs as at the time of the accident your other car was the insured vehicle.

If it was insured for Comprehensive then thats a different story.......

You report the pole on your old insurance, ask them to move the policy to your new car and all done, simple as that usually. They may turn around and say I am sorry sir we wont insure you which is entirely within the right of the insurance company.

If you claim for a written off car you do not get a refund in premium.

Did you read the bit where I said "If it was insured for Comprehensive then thats a different story......."

How can he claim for a written off car if he does not have comprehensive insurance?

If there is no pay out for a total loss then the contract is not fulfilled on a TPO or TPF&T policy therefore the policy will still be current.

Post whore

That has nothing to do with a TPO or a TPFT policy still being current after a write off

Na just a smart *** ****er.

And when did I say it had anything to do with anything????
It was correcting your incorrect presumption in beliving he hit another vehicle.

LOL I think you need glass's, no where did i write that he hit another car?

I was only talking about this written off car and his new car on his insurance policy.......... :togo:

Where i wrote "Was the car you had the accident with insured", it was meaning Hybrid34's car, not the commodore, as then I went on to say "if it was all you have to do is a change of vehicle with your current insurer as the policy will still be current if you were only insured for Third Party Only or Third Party Fire and Theft.............."

How can his insurance relate to the other drivers vehicle? Noice!
