Default BA Auto trans in an AU

Ok i got a few questions
1. Will a BA Xr6t autotransmission fit in an au1
2. Is the BA auto 4 speed aswell
3. Will i have to change the comp in the car?

The BA 4 speed auto should fit in but the bellhousing and the output shaft have to be swapped over the output shaft is also because it has a speedo gear in it that the BA do not have.

May I ask for what reason you wish to do the swap, there might be better options for you to take seeing as the gearboxes are not that far different.

1) dont think it is a straight fit
2) yes
3) can be made to work with the AU EEC - ask JC

ok the reason i am asking is because i just bought an BA XR6t trans for $600 that has done 32k. my trans in my au is broken :(

The extension housings will need to be changed over, a gear put on the output shaft for the speedo drive, should fit as some models do not have ABS, selector shaft and inhibitor switch need to be changed as they are different. If I can think of anything else I will add it or someone else will.
