No more progress yet, Ive spent the last few weekends changing motors and gearboxes around, and painting the car. im still trying to find a way to retard timing without going the edit. Im waiting to hear back from capa on the eliminator switch chip to see how the selector cable works to find out if I can rig something up there to allow switching on the fly. Toying around with the knock sensor signal doesnt seem to be having the desired effect unfortunateley, and the only other way seems to be an aftermarket ignition system that will run a timing retard box, which obtaining any info on for the AU is like pulling teeth.
Ill get there in the end!

on the timing issue,is there any way you could make some sort of ajustable bracket up for the crank angle sensor ?so you could advance/retard it a couple degree's.
if it could be done ,you reckon the ecu would work out were the cam is and where the crank should be and create some probs . just an idea......
