Default Removing Door Handles...

hey guys, my chrome door handles are in the post and i was just wondering what is the best way of removing the old ones and putting the new ones on? i was told i have to remove the door trims in order to do it..is this the only way?

Yes - but the lucky thing is, habing an AU2, you can unscrew the handles, whereas the AU1 you either have to drill out the rivets, or change just the actual handle bit - fiddly but it's doable.

Do a search for removing door trims - I've posted up the procedure previously.

Given above, can S1 handles be fitted to S2/3?

You shouldnt have to take the whole door trim off... if its a series 2/3, you should just be able to remove the backing behind the handle, just un bolt the door handles, and bolt you new ones on. If its a series 1 it it very very wise to remove the whole trim.

Yep, none at all. Handles are the same, frame is the same, just the fastening method is different.
