Question Rear power windows

i was just wondering if anyone has added in power windows in the back and if so how much roughly did it cost ya etc. for some weird reason, front and rear power windows were only standard on the xr8's which is so stupid!

I have added rear power windows. In order to do do you will need:
* New rear door trims (or you just have hole where the winder was)
* Power window regulators.
* Switches for the rear.
* The 4 way drivers control (unless you do not want control over the rear windows).
* Some wire.

If you get the switches from a Fairmont or above the switches will be illuminated. The concept is simple enough just a bit of work. Stav did the install on my car.

i also did it on mine, au forte, pretty simple, a lot more involved tho probably, because I did a 4 power window conversion as I didn't have any at all, I found the best place for the switches and regulators is ebay

you also need to replace the harness in the front drivers door as the connector is different

For the wiring and regulators and Stav's labour it was $400 to $500. Cant remember. I got the door trims and switches when I bought my Fairmont Ghia interior.

The non illuminated switches have 5 pins on their loom, the illuminated switches have 7 pins. So you need to get different switches in order to get the globe holder inside the switch and add a positive and earth to the switch.

Try FTG, they sold me the window regs and required wiring. I am sure you can get them to sell it as a kit of some sort.

I've got a set of 4 black door trims out of an AU2 75th Anniversary Futura which had power windows all around. Trims only as all the switches etc stayed in for the replacement leather interior from an XR8.
If anyone is interested, PM me.

Well the AU II 75th Anniversary Futura has illuminated switches, but I believe these came with the fairmont switches and other fairmont goodies

My Futura has lights in the window switches also, but it's a Classic so i guess that means something :P
Well, it did for a while anyway, most of them are blown now! Don't suppose there is any way to fix them?
