Default AU Output

Could someone please tell me what the AU XR6 02' model puts out at the engine and at the wheels?

And to use as a bit of pub ammo....would it beat a 98' Manual Holden VT?

You'd get 95 to 120 rwkws roughly.

164 kW @ 5000 rpm and 366Nm at 3150 rpm

Or for a VCT

172 kW @ 5000 and 374 Nm at 3500 rpm.

VT V6 puts out 152 kW and 320 Nm.

Performance in a straight line, the AUIII XR6's were a lot closer to the XU6's than the Commodore 'S'.

Into the twisties, you should have the satisfaction that the VT will disappear from your rear view mirror entirely....

how long is a piece of string

as said above u will get results between 90 to 120kw at the wheels, depending on the day, tyrepressures, humidity, dyno, etc etc etc

the good old argument of how much is much .... :

The XR will win all day every day. As will a standard au i6, not even in the same league.

Nope, i want to stick with ford, as i just wrote off my XG ute, and i since im upgrading i was just curious about the added benifit of it being able to beat a VT. I know barely anything about he AU series as ive always been XF-XG orientated.

As if i'd buy a civic...sheeesh...i'd rather beat him in style.

With Paccies, hi-flo cat and cat back lukey system I was outputting 118rwkw. Haltech with tune got me to 141rwkw. Apparently my stock rwkw was higher than normal by about 10% so I'd say about 105-110 rwkw as standard. I have a mate with a VX S and I used to pull away from him in my sedan...with Haltech I keep up with my mates vx Monaro. and leave mates VX S for dead.

i dynoed my fairmont with nothing but a 2.5" cat back with 1 muffler and a hotdog and pulled 135.6, then changed the exhaust to give it more of a note and some more back pressure being an auto and it still made 134rwkw. It's VCT but still a good result.you'll cain commodores ***'s all day man. too easy, my mate disappears behind me all the time in his V6, bahahaha.

sorry, just seems like a silly question to me...gotta take longer to wait for a reply here than it would googling the figures - VT & AU sixes are gonna be similar enough anyway

An AU XR6 is better compared to the V6 supercharged version. Then they are line ball with eachother.
Even a tricked up V6 '7/11 special' ecotech with mods will struggle to hold its own against a stock XR6.

You're too right stiddy, the VCT was designed to compete with HSV's XU6 (blown V6), and it still thumps out more torque than HSV's offering (fwkw are dead even). perhaps that's why it didnt stick around for very long

Im pretty sure the ute has the VCT...

My mate thinks his VT puts out 140 kw at the wheels just because of the lukey cat back. I laughed. Alot.

Well after a complete exhaust system, intake and flash tune with new cam i should be rolling pretty well.
