The 1964 Pontiac GTO had them first, and most GTOs since, so why would it be a surprise that a Holden GTO would have a similar bonnet? 1964 GTO 1969 GTO 1972 GTO 2005 GTO

yea right the 64 and 69 pontiac ones are nothing like the XB XC ones ( and the holden copy ) the pontiac ones are 2 individual scoops where the ford one is 2 vents in a single raised bulge . by your logic any car with a scoop that is open on the front is a pontiac rip off. the holden one on the other hand is a very close copy of the ford design with just a slight streamlining of the vents. the 72 design is so far removed from the whole concept ( and butt ugly) that it would be like saying both cars have a bonnet so they are the same

The holden ones do differ from the xc ones. People reffer to the vents fitted to the au as monaro vents, even when it is the xb vents fitted, why? Because the au bonnet is of similar shap to the monaro one, and not as easy to identify with the 30 year old xc's. But when it all comes down to it...Who gives a crap?

Gotta laugh about the ford or holden bonnet thing, isn't there anything better to bark about. What's next? did ford copy holden with the handbrake when they took it out the dash and put it in the console and who copied who when indicators came about? WHO CARES!!! All car manufactures copy each other and as long as it improves the car then so what. Oh and I rekon the driver of the AU pulled out infront of another car and probably spun the back into the other car from the hit, would have looked pretty good but I bet no one was laughing.
