Well that isn't good for GM-Holden then is it?

Their parent company GM saying they want Pontiac to be "sporty, fun to drive cars" and when asked "does this vehicle fit into where we believe Pontiac will be in the future? The simple answer is we did not believe so."

Well, there you go. Proof GMH has been lying to us that their cars go better...

Roughly translated the "sporty, fun to drive" is a RC car, Pontiac will cease to exsist in 3 months

Agreed. It's simply a matter of time and how much money the dealers can steal from them in the form of compo.

i dont think this will have a real negative effect on Holden...Given that exports wern't making much profit anyway.

The G8 would have been canned too if it wasn't already on sale. I think that once its due for an update they will decide to cut it from the range.

Holden must be in serious poo, they spends massive amounts of money on the brand new platform for the VE in the belief GM would build a heap of cars such as the Impala, a Buick and other models off the platform, but the only one that will come off the platform is the Camaro. All the others have been cancelled. Holden was relying on writing off the platforms development costs by using it in all the models GM planned to use it under. Now the G8 isn't selling, the G8 ST has been cancelled and GM don't want the Sportswagon like Holden hoped they would. Plus they would have lost heaps of money on every car they sold over there when the aussie dollar was high.

Yup!

I'll eat humble pie and say I thought they were on to a good thing at the time, but it doesn't look that way now, with the only other car built off the platform being a comparatively niche vehicle...

Probably for the best.
Looking at American forums most didnt want it anyway.
-Doesnt fit into Pontiac heritage (Like the G3 does?).
-Not American enough
-Not a real truck
-no bench seat.
-needs screaming eagle decals and cladding
- I wont buy it on principle, because they wont make a firebird.

hell a lot dont even like the G8.
