Default Cost of window Tinting?

Hi Guys,
I am considering getting my Falcon AUII wagon tinted, only about 35%. Just wonderinng what would this roughly cost, before I ring around for quotes.

Cheers

Dom

Tint a Car in Warragul Vic Quoted me $360 for "Midnight Express" on my AU Sedan early last year... id say wagon would be a bit more... they say midnight express is the darkest legal tint...

Cheers Cam

I had my sedan re-tinted in 20% just before xmas.

Cost $315 at Tint Mart here in Bris. Price included removing the old tint.

Dont know where you are but I got quoted $295 for my BA XT wagon. That was 20%. They charge the same as the 35%. Im in geelong and the quote was from tint professor.

Oh yeah tint-a-car geelong also quoted me $350 but that was for 10%. Thats what I think I might get. Very black very nice looking.

so i'm guessing 10% is darker than 20%, right? and 35% is the darkest legal? But they can still put illegally dark tint on if you request?

Yep thats right. 10% darkest,35% lightest.

Yes they will put an illegal tint on your request but they will also remind you of the legal consequences and insurance.

Have a look around.

Ah yeah ronwest, I was told 10% will be a pain to look through at night. This is where im tossing up between 10 and 20%...

Technically you can have totally blacked out rear side windows and rear screen if you have both side mirrors. Get darkest LEGAL tint for front windows and darkest rest. Tints-r-us in Preston. Vic. do a great job for about $250 with lifetime warrentee.

When Tint Mart did mine they advised me that it did not conform to Qld Tpt specifications and that there may be insurance issues in the event of a prang.

They do not supply a receipt and do not warrant the job for less than legal (although they did agree that faulty workmanship would be rectified).

Ok this is what I've heard, but you must contact your insurance company.

For it to be legal, take your wagon for example:

The two front windows (drivers and front passenger) have to be 35% (darkest legal)
The two rear windows (rear passengers) and the back window (boot) can be any tint you want. For example they can be 10%...

Must check that though.

Ok im just repeating what jcxr was saying. Whoops!

my rear windows were already darker than my fronts its an escape so all the rear was like privacy glass, and the front was about 35.
I got 20% put over the front and 15% over the back windows, only on the side not the rear windscreen, all look exacty the same, black as, cost for the 6 windows $120.

$265 for hatch and sedan at Tint Professor for choice of tints up to their 'darkest legal'.

I've used them on two cars, and been mostly happy with the service... although the wife did have a row with 'Rick' the Tint Professor from Nunawading (the one from the radio adverts)

You can easy-pay them too over 3 months 0% interest if cash is tight !
