Default Got good news and bad news....

Well first the bad news. Seems that i have busted my torque convertor (well that's what it sounds like anyway) :( Now in a situation like this i have two options, replace with a high stall, or find me a T5, and some of you will be pleased to hear that I have opted for the latter (that's the good news :P)

Crap thing is that i'm strapped for cash, and will take me a month or two before i can save up enough to cover the conversion, which means the car will yet again be off the road for a while. Anyways just though i'd give an update on my project and as always will keep you's informed.

Also, i now have a brand new aftermarket tranny cooler that has only been used for a couple of days, so if anyones interested, drop me a PM...

Sorry to hear about the auto, but the T5 sounds like an exciting development. Just try to get a good one or you'll end up with the same problem again.

What made you decide on the T5? An auto with high stall would suit the 1/4 better, but I guess you will have more fun with the manual. All the best with it Steve and keep us updated with progress ;)

Good news Steve.

Don't forget you'll need a heavy clutch!

I told you to put in a 5 speed pedal box when you had the dash out. Good to see you are getting rid of the slush box.

Dan, are you the founding member of the BTR preservation society? :

Man this car has come a long way since the i8 days...hope it works out for you soon mate

Though I reckon a T5 may be a bit under done in the long run for this motor

with steves car, a T5 would make it one hell of a car to drive.
it likes the high rpm so a T5 will suit it for sure.
mix taht with the 3.7 diff gears and the cars gunna have some serious go

i'm guessing the torque converter went with the spurts to 6500rpm? :P

Good Idea steve! I still want a manual but the fully manualised c4 with high stall combo shouldnt ever break with the power I want to put out and take off nicely as well.

Put a converter in and bring it to heathcote!! I must be really lucky with my BTR, I dont even have trans cooler fitted yet and still no dramas.

Good luck with it all!!
