Default New seats

Hi everyone, i'm looking to update my seats in my 1980 panelvan. Got new carpet and all the rest but would like some nice comfy pews to go with it. Does anyone know how to go about it. The seats will most likely be second hand. Is is just a matter of putting the runners from my seats onto the bottom of said new seats or is there more to it. The new seats will be from a small car to play it safe as i don't know if the seats from a larger sedan would be too wide, which i assume they would. ???? any info would be great
