I have a AU3 wagon with an LSD. Over the weekend ive noticed under load the LSD allows one wheel to spin more then the other, causing a horrible sound, much like a handbrake scraping on the wheel that is not turning as fast as the one with all the power. It is difficult to explain. Normal driving on the road its not noticable at all. It has been in the order of 50,000 kms since the last diff oil change, would this help the sitiuation??

oil change is needed but cant say if it will fix the issue.
seized caliper, bearing cap bolts, axle bearings and a general check of the torque settings of bolts would be on my list. Having worn lsd clutches will allow inconsistent wheel spin. |

Sounds like normal operation to me.
However it could also be ... Does you car have TC? If so then I would say the TC was kicking in as well by the sounds of it. Ford didn't put LSD in cars with TC because of this problem. |

sounds like LSD packs need reshimming to me. Mine does similar when turning right. Inside wheel spins but the outside wheel goes normal speed.
When turning left its different. Both wheels break traction easily.
