Hey all,i know this is a stereo question but what size hole for a sub is it in th au series? Also is it even worthwhile to fit one that size? PS-i do fold down the back seats from time to time so a boot full of subs is out of the question...

It takes an 8" sub. You would need to get one that is suitable as an open air sub as the boot is a fairly large enclosure. I've put one in the XR - just a cheap $30 job and even it has improved the bass. It's just wired in series with the RHS rear speaker. Nt the best method, but works for me.

Hey thanks for that, did you put a cover over it? Does it secure with torx screws also? I dont suppose you had a pic of what it looks like from in cab and in boot?

Sorry - no pics. I didn't put a cover, unless you count the rear shelf cover as a cover. Basically, the sub fits in the hole, you take the carpet/material cover off to put it there, and while you're there, just pull out the insulation material that is already pre cut, leaving just the actual material as a cover. As it's bass, you don't really need it open to the inside, so it looks stock. Also, I just used some small bolts with nylocks to secure it. I think I had to drill one or two holes for the bolts, as the bolt holes didn't quite line up.

i have seen people use cheap as chips 8" subs and bolt them into the parcel shelf, however they also bolted a nice piece of MDF underneath it for more support and less rattle, the result is all right considering it cost only 120 bucks ... a single 2 channel amp will do the trick just fine
