Yeah The day they brought it out I looked at it and thought "Nice limo tint" opened the door and wanted to chuck, the smell was that bad.
(Did get john_xr6 and a few others to look inside aswell ;)) Sorry to hear about your ea mike

didn't they introduce the battery coolers in the EB because they were exploding and causing fires in the EA's, im pretty sure i read that somewhere, although this fits the altenator theory too.
IE alt overcharged battry and heated it up to the point of combustion?? also for insurace reasons this thread better self distruct soon

I believe late EA series 1 forward had battery coolers, only the first of the EAs went without. Mine was a series 2 and had the cooler.
