I just went down for my first go last night....
I was in the first race of the night too

Just watch the officials signals .... dont worry about what anyone else is doing... its alot easier than it looks

if ur worried and ya got a mate that goes down regularly go down with him and be a part of his pit crew that way u can watch and see how it works. its ultimately simple as.
first things first make sure u have an approved helmet, long pants, jumper, shoes, rego, license etc. you will then need to scrutineer the car after you do the paperwork, this is an easy process also. they will put a lane number and racer number on ur car, u then line up in the corresponding lane. then its jus like a traffic light, stop n go when they tell ya, no burnouts past the tree and try not to stage the back wheels

Use the search button, there's plenty of thread on this subject.

Just talk to some one at the track when you get there. People don't bite.
Also practice makes perfect.

heres a link for you its a typical light set up for drags the top smaller lights are for staging so you will roll forward till yr front tyres break the first stage beam this will activate the top light you then creep forward till the second light activates this means you are staged you hold this pisition till the starter activates the tree you launch just as the last yellow light goes out if you launch to early you will red light if you wait till you see green you will be left behind so it about timing
the link lets you pratice http://www.howtodragrace.com/

thats a good link ok a mouse button is a bit different to cars lol

after a few red lights i cut a best light of 0.16 reaction time

as for 1st time at the drags , just take your time and stage in then when your 100% happy go for it , don't worry about seeing the green and having to go , make sure your set and give it some

6 spd auto you should be able to spool it up ti 1800rpm with foot on brake then flat to the floor

see how you go i would think high 13's or low 14's until you get used to it

most of all have fun mate its a blast and legal
