looks good but I reckon you can get a full touch screen for much cheaper and with all the optional functions of this unit included.
I put a double din touch screen into a 100 series Cuiser not that hard, but with the Focus you must make sure it has the proper connector as you can cut and shut wires.

Pete, there are a stack of units available ex-China, all based on the same architecture.
I dont know if I agree with the "Chinese rubbish" comment. These days what isn't made in China!!! They have warranty however. You can buy either of the units you put up via. a Melbourne distributor, who will provide replacement unit if within warranty period. (so you dont have to wait for unit to go back to china) But for this, you pay an extra $200 or so bucks! I have been trawling for these units for a while now, expecting prices to come down. I recently found this unit, which is slightly different again, but to me says "FORD" a little more than the others. http://whlx.en.alibaba.com/product/2...missions_.html You can also try to track down a Euro GPS unit. This is a Euro factory option, and has the head unit and heater controls integrated. The GPS works off a DVD unit I believe. This unit also has a feed to the LCD in the speedo area. Expect around the AUD$1K mark for this baby though. I only find them on EBAY UK. Good luck with it all. If I do go the above, I'll provide a running commentary on its craptapulence or not! Cheers, Leakey

I bought a similar device off ebay to try - $600 by the time it got here.
It went back three weeks later for a full refund. My issues: Steering wheel buttons didn't work properly ipod functionality was terriable Didn't use the factory bluetooth - used internal one which no one could hear me. Since found out that Sony head unit provides the factory bluetooth DVD player was noisy Required shipping screws - the install said that any device which requires shipping screws is low quality (in his opinion). Given the unit is bouncing around in a car all the time, why would a quality unit needs shipping screws? Further more, the high quality units do not have them. Slow - be careful. The boot up time on these devices can be up to 30 seconds. It is basically a mini pc. And if you want to to use it for the reverse camera, the camera isn't ready for 30 seconds. By this time, you have already reversed 15m! I won't be touching one of these units agian. I would like to go to the genuine Sat Nav for the Mondeo from the UK. But the cheapest I have seen it for on ebay is about $2,500AUD. |

Great critique warren. You've probably saved a few people here some heart ache mate.
I'll try and dig up the UK Ebay shop that seems to find the OEM integrated Focus units all the time. Last time i did the exercise, they were comming here just a whisker under AUD$1K, so no trouble with customs and duty.

Leaky that would be good if you could find the OEM units.
They might do a Mondeo one. I would happily spend up to $1500 on an integrated GPS, if it retained all the factory goodness. |

Warren, when you're searching, add "Denso" in your criteria. That's the factory spec.
There is one in Ebay Germany atm, but I dont speak German!

Leaky:
The dollar has crashed back to 84/84 US cents. Back to 54 against the pound. This time last week it was about 3 to 4 cents higher against both. |

Hey Guys,
Another (expensive) option is the Pioneer F-9220BT. It's designed to fit straight into the console (on 2009 and up). It's a new product though and I can't seem to find much info on it. http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/2...0BT/index.html |
