Part of the story: A US jury has ordered a Minnesota woman to pay $US1.5 million ($A1.5 million) for illegally downloading 24 songs in a high-profile digital piracy case. Jammie Thomas-Rasset, a single mother of four, was found liable by a jury on Wednesday of copyright infringement for using KaZaA peer-to-peer file-sharing network to download the songs over the internet. Full Story: 1.5mill for downloading music I don't like their chances of getting payment! Let's just hope she wasn't downloading Rick Astley!

Interesting, 9 news claiming this is a new case, Kazaa has been officially dead for quite a few years now, the only versions of it that allowed you to illegally download files are only used by a few thousand people, thats it, I'm not even sure if they still work.
I reckon its a slow day at 9 news. |

Haha wasn't that a while ago I posted that? I dunno, time just moves so quick for me lately, seems like all I do is work, sleep, wake up, go to work, come home, go to sleep, wake up and repeat!

I'm loving the fact that as I read the article on Ninemsn, the fine is actually less in australian dollars than USD.

Unfortunate for the woman - whoever is still using KaZaA, LimeWire and etc. are at the highest risk, I don't know why people even still use it in the first place! :/ |

I hope there wasn't any written in the last 5 years. If so, I'd be counter suing, as what they are producing these days isn't technically music is it?
