Default Want More Power

HI ALL, I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED AN XR8 5LTR 5SPD UTE. I DROVE IT DOWN SOUTH FOR THE WEEKEND AN ON SOME OCCASIONS WISHED I'D HAD A LITTLE MORE PICKUP WHEN EXCELERATING (OVER TAKING AND HILLS ETC). I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY ARE UNDER POWERED WHEN FROM THE FACTORY AND ARE CAPABLE OF MUCH MORE GRUNT THEN WE GET, SO WHAT BASIC CHANGES CAN I DO TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE WITHOUT THE BIG ENGINE OVERHAUL. I WOULD LIKE TO START SMALL AND WORK UP FROM THERE. :

As JC-XRWgn said with exhaust and k&n ,A phenolic spacer for some extra bottom end torque its not much but you will feel it.The rollers will give about 7kw but the revs and responce is good. You can mod your own air box buy cutting the front out to the ligths or through the guard(if you want).Depending on the maf you can do a bit there by removing the centre piece leaving the tube.Better fuel responce and the cars run rich enough not to run lean at high revs.
