yeah cars are money-pits, dont bother putting in 15k into the green machine if you may end up selling it or are in any way not 100% happy/confident with it.

Hondas are cool, but parts are probably expensive....if you go skyline, make sure you havent got a flogged one, that would be my worry....but i guess you get that with all second hand peformance cars.
I bought my SS from a....gulp....ford dealership where the previous 'white haired' old fella traded it in for a ford territory....so i was happy to take the SS off his, and the dealerships hands

So many options, but some alternatives to a Skyline (not that they are bad by any means are)

RX7- Series IV,V
Toyota Crown/Cressida or any other Jap luxury import - modded
Lexus LS400
Mitsu Galant Vr4
Old Skool.tm BMW 5/7 Series- Estate would be even better

and though you are trying to get away from Falc and Commo's maybe something like a
XH Xr Panelvan or a nice AU Fairlane (you seem to like the NF) might be a good bet

Some of these cars are more pratical than other of course an RX7 wont be very practical. Anyhow the choice is your and there are probably thousands of car that fill your role, just pick the one you like the most.

There you go, a nice M spec 96' GTST with under 80k on the clock for $22k. Looks clean as, its stock, and its pretty close to where you are (ok so i don't have any idea about brisvagas!)

Get that one!

<edit>The new plates could mean its newly imported, and i'm a bit suss about the chick in the photos, but hey, its worth a look. (of course it could also just be new plates because th personal ones have been removed!)

And the 20ish K you spend on a Ricer will fuel the Green Machine (tm) for how many years?

That M-Spec is an excellent car. If it were me, I'd get that R33.

Though, if you want 206kW 2.6 twin turbo i6, high 12s 1/4s stock, and the ability to dismantle everything this side of a 911 Turbo for little cost...

http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsa...ch_distance=25

Buy this...

1990 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R, 90,800km... $21,500.00.

I had a similar transport problem, I turbo charged and AU ex Taxi on LPG.
Great POS looking sleeper that goes really well, is cheap to run and can build for well under 10k.

But the therapy after my 5th nervous breakdown will blow 20k easy... As much as I love the Green Machine, it's becoming increasingly obvious that she hates me.

R32 GTR looks like the plan - would be happy to kick in some extra cash to get a car like that. So now, the saving begins... Should be in a position to get it around Christmas... Can't wait!

Thanks for the advice, guys!

An R32 GTR for 20k? I'd look very carefully at it, I'd expect a decent GTS to be around that price range. I've heard they're pretty expensive to maintain too.

Yea the Soarer is a nice blend of sport and comfort. Don't overlook the Supra though, maybe even an RX7 if you don't mind sounding like a brushcutter.

Don't be a stooge! Buy my EF. Or any EF! Don't buy a skyline! Or a Bommadore!
